Veracocha — Carte Blanche

Carte Blanche is the 1999 Veracocha collaboration by Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor. Armada’s retrospective identifies both producers and singles out the piano chime and main melody. Our editorial reason for including it is that recognizable melodic identity, heard across several differently credited remixes. It is not a Rank 1 or Tiësto original simply because it belongs to the same Dutch trance period.

The original Dutch catalog edition is Deal Records DEAL 022, pairing Carte Blanche with Drafting. The checked UK Positiva CD dates to 3 May 1999 and includes a radio edit, original mix and Origin remix. That day applies to the UK CD; the Dutch catalog only establishes a year, so it is not presented as an exact worldwide premiere.

The core collaboration is Corsten and de Moor. The label retrospective supplies a musical description of the piano motif, not a complete session reconstruction. We do not add a synthesizer model or a claim about which producer wrote a specific bar without a verified firsthand account. Remix credits belong to their respective versions, not to the original authorship line.

Deal and Positiva editions document the original Dutch and UK release trail. Later campaigns brought additional named interpretations without changing the original Veracocha credit. This page does not use live stream totals or claims that Veracocha released only one record: the original single itself includes the companion track Drafting.

• Carte Blanche / Original mix (1999)

Dutch Deal 022 lists the title track and Drafting; the UK Positiva CD explicitly labels an Original mix.

Carte Blanche: Deal Records DEAL 022

• Origin remix (1999 UK CD)

Named on Positiva CDTIV-110, alongside the original and radio edit.

  Carte Blanche: 1999 Positiva CD

• Ronald Van Gelderen / Kenny Hayes remixes (2003 edition)

Separate versions on Positiva CDTIVMIX09; this verifies that edition, not every territory’s first remix issue.

Carte Blanche: 2003 Positiva remix edition

• Cosmic Gate remix (2008 edition)

Named on the Incentive CARTE01 edition; not the original 1999 version.

  Carte Blanche: 2008 Incentive edition

• Ilan Bluestone Remix (2021)

Armind’s primary catalog describes a new 2021 interpretation.

Carte Blanche — Ilan Bluestone Remix

A 2003 Positiva edition contains Ronald Van Gelderen and Kenny Hayes remixes; a 2008 Incentive edition includes Cosmic Gate and other remixers. Armada’s Ilan Bluestone page explicitly identifies a 2021 reinterpretation. The artist-hosted 2008 Mixes storefront inherits a 1999 date, which should not be used to date the later remixes. Use edition records rather than one digital date for the whole remix history.

• Drafting is the companion track on the original Deal single.
• Ferry Corsten and Vincent de Moor are the Veracocha producers; Cosmic Gate is a later remixer.
• An inherited original date on a remix storefront does not date every remix in that package.
